Update August 17th 2011: As a result of recent telephone correspondence with an individual who was the viewer of this website, there seems to be some lack of clarity as to just who the owner of this domain name is. In my effort to maintain complete transparency, this domain name was acquired on July 27th, 2011 through a process known as TBR (“To Be Released”), which is conducted at 2:00 PM EST every Wednesday by the .ca registration authority known as CIRA. Domains that have not been renewed by the party who had originally registered them are made available through the TBR process. On July 27th, 2011, coffeedates.ca was one of those domain names. I have all invoices and registration information to prove that I am, indeed, the legitimate and lawful owner of this domain name. Claims which state otherwise should be deemed to be false.

Hence the name of this website (coffeedates.ca), we will explore a few important dates in the history of coffee’s evolution;

- Between 700 and 1000 AD, Arabs regarded coffee as an energy drink. This is likely due to the fact that it is caffeinated and typically causes one who consumes it to experience an increase in energy level.

- In 1645, the first coffee shop opened in Venice, Italy.

- The first location of what is now known as Starbucks, which went by “Starbuck” at the time, was opened in Seattle, Washington in 1971. I like Starbucks.
